Tai Sui 2027: Zodiac Signs, Rituals & Buying Guide

For 2027, Tai Sui questions usually begin with one concern: “Does my zodiac sign need special attention?” In the Goat-year tradition used in this guide, the four signs to look at are Goat, Ox, Rat and Dog. That is a starting point for understanding a custom, not a prediction that something bad will happen.

Watch: 2027 Tai Sui explained by Mike Wang

Prefer to watch first? This 7-minute guide introduces the 2027 Tai Sui relationships for Goat, Ox, Dog and Rat. Then use the sections below to compare symbolic pieces, personal rituals and the year-long lamp offering.

When does the 2027 Tai Sui year begin?

2027 is the Ding Wei, or Fire Goat, year; Sheep is another common English name. Lunar New Year falls on 6 February 2027, while Li Chun, the Beginning of Spring, falls on 4 February in the Hong Kong Observatory calendar. Many BaZi practitioners use Li Chun as the year boundary, while public New Year observances follow the lunar calendar. If you were born near either boundary, use your full birth details rather than a birth-year chart alone.

Which zodiac signs are associated with Fan Tai Sui in 2027?

Fan Tai Sui is an umbrella term for several traditional relationships between a birth-year branch and the year's branch. The common Goat-year grouping is:

  • Goat / Sheep: Zhi Tai Sui, sharing the year's branch; also called one's Ben Ming Nian.
  • Ox: Chong Tai Sui, the branch opposite Goat.
  • Rat: Hai Tai Sui, the traditional Rat–Goat “harm” relationship.
  • Dog: Po Tai Sui, the Dog–Goat “break” relationship. Some schools also discuss the Ox–Dog–Goat punishment grouping.

The terminology follows traditional branch relationships, explained by Tai Hau Temple. These names describe a traditional system, not measured levels of danger. Temple customs and practitioners' lists vary. A historical example is Sik Sik Yuen's 2015 Goat-year announcement, which named Goat, Ox, Rat and Dog. It supports the recurring Goat-year grouping; it is not a 2027 event announcement.

Does “Po Tai Sui” mean a ritual to break bad luck?

In its technical use, Po Tai Sui names a particular branch relationship. Hua Tai Sui is the phrase commonly used for a blessing practice intended to ease an unfavourable relationship with the year's Tai Sui. English searches such as “Tai Sui remedies 2027” often mix these ideas together. A careful choice begins with knowing whether you want a personal ceremony, a devotional offering or a symbolic object to wear.

San He or Liu He: which zodiac charm should I choose?

Start with your own zodiac. San He is a three-animal group; Liu He is a two-animal pair. For Goat, choose Pig–Rabbit–Goat for San He or Horse–Goat for Liu He. A ready-combined design already includes the matching animals; you do not need to buy all twelve.

For the other signs discussed here, Ox pairs with Rat, Rat with Ox, and Dog with Rabbit. These fixed relationships are separate from the annual Tai Sui classifications. A guardian-deity bracelet follows another convention and should not be selected as though it were a San He set.

For a portable choice, the Copper Zodiac Ally Keychain has all ten pair/group designs at US$49.90. For a desk, choose individual obsidian zodiac figurines. A zodiac motif expresses an intention; it is not a replacement for a dedicated ritual if that is the service you want.

Use the twelve-sign San He and Liu He chart to find your combination and compare charms, jewelry and figures.

Talisman, personal ritual or Changming Lamp?

Choose the scope you want, not a higher price as a measure of protection. All physical pieces include personalized kaiguang led by Mike Wang at Chongyang Palace. A dedicated annual Hua Tai Sui ritual and the year-long lamp offering are separate services.

Want several physical pieces together? The sets below start at $99. The $249, $399 and $599 sets already include personal rituals; check the number of beneficiaries before adding a separate booking.

Which 2027 Tai Sui set should you choose?

Start with where you will use the pieces and whether you want a personal ceremony. All five sets include items blessed at Chongyang Palace in China. The price reflects the contents and services, not a promised level of protection.

Set Price (USD) Included
Everyday Carry $99 1 talisman + pouch, 1 five-colour bracelet, 1 gold-tone Tai Sui card.
Home Blessing $149 1 talisman + pouch, 1 Five-Emperor coin wood piece, 1 amber-tone hanging plaque.
Personal Ritual & Carry $249 The Everyday Carry contents, plus 1 personal ritual for 1 named person.
Personal Ritual, Home & Carry $399 2 talismans + 2 pouches, 1 bracelet, 1 card, 1 wood piece, 1 hanging plaque; 1 personal ritual.
Two-Person Ritual & Home $599 3 talismans + 3 pouches, 2 bracelets, 2 cards, 1 wood piece, 1 hanging plaque; 2 personal rituals for 2 named people.

For everyday wear: the $99 set is the simplest starting point. Choose the $149 home set if you prefer a quiet indoor space to jewellery. The $249 set adds a birth-based personal ceremony to the carry pieces. Choose $399 for one person's ceremony with separate home and carry items, or $599 for two people's ceremonies and two carry sets sharing one home set.

Ritual talismans are already included in the quantities above. All five sets ship free to one address in supported destinations. Preparation takes 10 business days, followed by up to 10 business days in transit, for delivery within 20 business days of ordering. Browse all five sets.

Can I buy the pieces separately?

Yes. Choose one piece if you already have a talisman or want a particular design. Each includes blessing at Chongyang Palace.

Browse the individual pieces. The carry sets contain the gourd linework card; the home sets contain the Tai Sui wood design. Other designs can be bought separately. Standard shipping is $6.99, free on orders over $79 after discounts and before taxes, to supported checkout destinations.

What do the materials and symbols mean?

Five-colour cord: a light woven bracelet, approximately 2 mm thick. Its colours recall five-element symbolism; it is not a gemstone bracelet. Choose a finished length from 15 to 19 cm by comparing a bracelet that fits you. These measurements are not wrist-size ranges. The two-person set lets you choose each length separately.

Gold-tone Tai Sui card: a 2027 gourd-shaped design for carrying, combining the year's Tai Sui imagery with the gourd's traditional auspicious symbolism. The finish is gold-coloured, not solid gold.

Home pieces: the wood piece combines a Tai Sui design with decorative Five-Emperor coins, traditionally associated with protection and prosperity. The hanging plaque is amber-coloured, approximately 7 cm; it is not sold as verified amber gemstone. Keep both dry, in a clean indoor space.

Lamp dates and talisman delivery

The $299 Changming Lamp reservation is paid in full once, with no automatic renewal. There are 30 places in total; this does not mean 30 remain. Mike Wang leads the opening ritual at Chongyang Palace on 1 January 2027, followed by one year of daily care. That fixed date is separate from the February calendar boundaries above.

The included talisman arrives within 20 business days of your order, separately from the lamp-lighting date. The lamp remains at the temple and is not included in any Tai Sui set.

What should you prepare for a ritual?

Provide each beneficiary's full name, Gregorian birth date, recorded local birth time and birthplace. If the time is unknown, say so. For the two-person set, put both people's details in the intention field, labelled Person 1 and Person 2, and use Person 1's date in the birth-date field. Include a working contact email. Each ritual date is selected using the person's BaZi details.

Ceremonies are not photographed or filmed, to preserve their sacred character. Photos, video and livestreams are not included.

At home, a small practice can be enough: keep a clean space, write one intention and choose one practical action to support it. Read our talisman care guide for handling, or the Goat jewellery guide for other styles. These are faith and cultural practices, without guaranteed financial, health or relationship outcomes.
