Feng Shui Talisman: Meaning, Types & Buying Guide
A feng shui talisman is a symbolic object chosen for an intention such as protection, prosperity, career or harmony. The term is used broadly in shops: a paper fu, a carved wooden talisman and a symbolic bracelet are different objects, with different ways of using and caring for them.
To choose, answer three questions: What is the intention? Will you carry it, wear it or keep it at home? What exactly does the price include? The material alone does not tell you how a piece was prepared.
What does “feng shui talisman” mean?
In this collection, a talisman carries a stated spiritual intention through its design and preparation. Paper talismans are often called fu. Their written forms belong to devotional traditions and should not be treated as interchangeable decorative patterns.
Feng shui also concerns the arrangement of spaces. Wearing a charm and assessing a home’s layout are different practices, even though both may appear under the same shopping category. Choose a piece because its meaning fits your beliefs, without expecting it to guarantee money, safety or a relationship outcome.
Paper, wood or a wearable charm?
| Type | Best suited to | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Paper talisman | A written intention kept in a protective bag, carried carefully or stored in a clean, dry place. | Number of talismans, dimensions, packaging and preparation. |
| Wooden talisman | Someone who prefers a carved, tactile object. | Wood type, dimensions, intended use and support for any unusual material claim. |
| Bracelet or pendant | A symbol worn during ordinary daily life. | Fit, metal and stone details, fastening and care. A symbolic accessory is not automatically a paper fu. |
| Year-specific Tai Sui talisman | A devotional object for the named year. | Correct year, included pouch and whether a separate personal ceremony is included. |
The Wealth, Career, Protection/Peace/Happiness and Love/Harmony paper options below are listed as approximately 15 cm long per talisman, sealed in protective plastic and supplied with a cotton blessing bag. Check the set quantity: the same catalogue illustration may be used for several options. The separate 2027 set has its own specifications.

If you prefer wood, see the Jujube Wood Talisman. Its catalogue describes the material as lightning-struck; ask about provenance if that claim is central to your choice. A picture alone cannot establish it.
Choose a talisman by intention
Start with the intention that matters most to you now. You do not need one of every type.

|---|---|---|
| Prosperity and stewardship | Wealth Talisman — one paper talisman. | $20 |
| Work and professional direction | Career Talisman — one paper talisman. | $20 |
| Protection and peace | Protection, Peace & Happiness Set — three talismans with distinct intentions. | $60 |
| Relationships and harmony | Love & Harmony Set — two talismans. | $79 |

For a home display rather than a personal talisman, compare the pieces in our wealth bowl placement guide. For a year-specific observance, read the 2027 Tai Sui guide before selecting a service or set.
What does consecration include?
Every physical piece in our collection receives kaiguang consecration and blessing at Chongyang Palace (重阳宫), China. This preparation is included in the item’s price. Follow the product’s preparation form for the information needed for your order.
The 2027 talisman-and-pouch set is distinct from the US$199 personal Tai Sui ritual, which includes birth-based date selection and a talisman. If you book that service, you do not need to buy the separate talisman set to receive its included talisman.
How to keep your talisman
Keep a paper talisman in its protective covering and bag, away from water, heat and repeated bending. A dry compartment in a bag, a bedside drawer or a shelf can be practical. Continuous skin contact is unnecessary. Keep wooden pieces dry and wipe them gently; do not assume a care method for stone is suitable for wood or paper.
Do not burn, ingest or alter the supplied talisman. For handling, storage and damage questions, see the talisman use and care guide.
Choosing a zodiac ally charm
If your intention is a portable reminder of support and harmony, consider a zodiac motif alongside the paper-talisman choices above. The Copper Zodiac Ally Keychain has ready-combined San He trios and Liu He pairs at US$49.90. The Red Agate Zodiac Phone Charm is a smaller single-animal option at US$39.90.
A zodiac charm and an annual Tai Sui talisman are distinct products. Choose the format and tradition you want rather than treating every charm as the same ritual service. Use the twelve-sign ally chart to match the correct animals.
Questions before buying
Do I need a more expensive talisman for a stronger effect?
No price can establish a spiritual result. Compare the material, number of pieces, preparation and intended use. A single paper talisman may suit your purpose better than a larger set.
Can I buy one as a gift?
Choose with the recipient’s beliefs and preferences in mind. Confirm which personal details the selected product needs before preparation, and leave enough time for delivery.
Must every talisman be replaced each year?
Check the individual item. A 2027 Tai Sui talisman is explicitly year-specific; that does not make every wealth, career or wooden talisman an annual purchase. Ask for guidance on the particular piece if you are unsure.
How long does preparation and delivery take?
Allow 10 business days for preparation and up to 10 business days for shipping: up to 20 business days in total. Shipping is US$6.99 and free on orders over US$79 after discounts and before taxes. See preparation and shipping, or contact us before placing a date-sensitive order.
