2027 Feng Shui Wealth Corner Guide: How to Find It, What to Place & What to Avoid
Where is the feng shui wealth corner? In a compass-based bagua, the southeast is associated with wealth. In the entrance-aligned BTB method, it is the back-left area. The 2027 annual Flying Star chart adds another layer: Star 9 occupies the center, while Star 8 visits the southeast.
Start by choosing one mapping method, then a display that fits the space.

Why the wealth corner matters
In Feng Shui, the wealth area represents prosperity and household resources. Giving it attention makes an intention tangible: building savings, caring for what you own, or creating an orderly workspace.
A wealth bowl or carved symbol gives that intention a visible home. Its meaning is spiritual and cultural; placing an object does not guarantee income. A carefully chosen piece is enough to begin.
How to find your wealth corner
Choose your method before moving furniture. Southeast and back-left may fall in different rooms. The International Feng Shui Guild’s bagua guide illustrates both approaches.
Compass method: locate the southeast
- Sketch your home’s floor plan. For an apartment, use your own living unit.
- On a simple rectangular plan, mark the center. Establish north with a compass, checking away from metal objects that may affect the reading.
- Mark the southeast sector from the center, halfway between east and south. It is an area of the home, not necessarily a literal corner.
- Identify a stable shelf, cabinet or sideboard within that area.
This is a basic orientation exercise. Irregular layouts and a full Flying Star assessment need more information than a quick compass reading. Direction is only one part of a property’s assessment, as the Guild explains in its compass guide.
BTB method: use the entrance
Draw a three-by-three grid over the floor plan with the entrance wall along the bottom. Facing inward from that side, the far-left section is the wealth area. Keep the same mapping scale throughout: a room-level grid is different from a whole-home grid.
What changes in 2027?
Annual Flying Stars move each year; the compass association of southeast with wealth does not. In the 2027 annual chart, Star 9 is in the center and Star 8 is in the southeast. Nine receives particular attention in Period 9 prosperity interpretations; Eight should not simply be described as the strongest wealth star for every home.
The annual chart changes at Li Chun, rather than January 1. The Hong Kong Observatory’s 2027 calendar places Li Chun on February 4 and Lunar New Year on February 6. The precise transition instant must be converted to your local time zone.
Use this annual layer alongside the home’s layout and natal chart. It is not an instruction to put a fountain, red lamp or heavy crystal in every southeast room. Keep the center usable; a display should never obstruct the household’s main walkway.
What to place in a feng shui wealth corner
Choose one focal piece by its meaning, material and footprint. A bowl gathers ingot shapes together to symbolize building and preserving prosperity. Pixiu offers a guardian motif; the money toad emphasizes traditional money symbolism. These are alternatives, not a checklist to buy in full.
Prices are in USD; check the product page for current prices and options. Dimensions are approximate. Each photograph shows one option; included stands and contents vary as described.
Choose by actual material, too. Resin, glazed ceramic and brass have different finishes and care needs. A gold-colored ornament is not necessarily gold. Color alone does not make an object a suitable Five Elements remedy for your home.
For bowl contents, positioning and care, continue with our wealth bowl placement guide. Keep any display on a stable, dry surface with space around it for cleaning.
Prefer a New Year gift motif? The brass three-goat statue represents san yang kai tai, an auspicious beginning. Its 8 cm and 11 cm heights suit different shelf sizes. Choose it for that meaning and the room available, rather than treating it as an automatic cure for every wealth sector. Our three-goats guide compares both options.
What to avoid
- Mixing maps: do not treat BTB, compass bagua and annual Flying Stars as interchangeable.
- Overcrowding: more coins, crystals or statues do not automatically mean a better arrangement.
- Automatic water features: a fountain is not a universal wealth-corner requirement.
- Unsafe placement: avoid unstable shelves, blocked doors and loose small components within children’s reach.
- Neglecting the room: repair leaks and remove damaged objects before adding a decorative display. Damage is a maintenance issue, not proof of bad luck.
What if the area is a bedroom or bathroom?
In a bedroom, keep the arrangement quiet and unobtrusive; flashing lights and noisy fountains interfere with rest. If the mapped area is a bathroom, prioritize maintenance and ventilation. Do not force a precious display into a damp location. Choose a suitable dry display spot elsewhere, while recognizing that this does not relocate the mapped sector.
Choosing a consecrated piece
At Mike Wang Feng Shui, each physical piece receives a kaiguang consecration ceremony at Chongyang Palace in China, led by Mike Wang and personalized to the birth details and intention you provide.
